MAKE IN RURAL INDIA THROUGH SKILL DEVELOPMENT
To accelerate the growth of Indian economy towards high trajectory, there is an intensified need of highly skilled workforce. A skilled work force is the need of the hour to meet the global standards of quality and to boost industrial as well as economic development for a developing country like India. Studies show that for a country like ours, skill development is critical for both socio-economic and demographic point of view.
This has been the prime reason for digital Assam charitable to take up Skill Development as one of its thrust areas. digital assam charitable facilitates or catalyzes skill development initiatives that can potentially have a multiplier effect. In doing so, it strives to involve the various other stakeholders in all the aspects of skill development. Our approach is to develop skills among women, youth, farmers, workers/labors of various industries while forming partnerships with multiple stakeholders and build long-term associations.
EDUCATION
Digital Assam Charitable Trust believes education is the most important tool that can transform the society to be more civilized. Research has proven that education will play an important role in the overall development of an Individual. Education is a crucial step in improving the quality of life especially of the poor and vulnerable, and access to quality education is significant to the nation's development. The Indian Education system has faced numerous challenges in providing quality education facilities right from Infrastructure, Sanitation, Quality Education, Financial support etc. Thus, the Foundation has been striving to provide the necessary support within its limitations, in the area of Education.
SETTING UP COMMUNITY HEALTH PROGRAMME
Nations throughout the world are seeking to improve the health of their citizens and make quality health care accessible and affordable. Despite their differences, nations are facing a surprisingly similar set of health disparities and inequalities, such as fragmented health care ecosystems, high costs, inconsistent quality of care, inefficient systems, barriers to access and capacity needs. In response to these challenges, recognizing the importance of healthy living has become an increasingly important issue both in society at large and in the work place. Digital Assam charitable initiates activities for the well-being of our citizens and communities to build a strong and healthy nation.
In India the slum areas are not too hygienic and neither the people living in such areas are aware of preventing themselves from the various diseases they can suffer from due to in- hygiene. Therefore, we made our aim that We Provide Treatment & education for knowledge to live more hygienically so that they too can lead a healthy life and prevent themselves and their families from any health issues This camp has benefited over 180 households in the entire community. We provide awareness about diarrhea, sanitation, hygiene, health issues, tuberculosis etc.
Our aim to make people understand the importance of good health. Apart from our regular action plan we also took initiatives for the welfare of the workers and community by conducting need. We made them aware about how to prevent the spread of infectious diseases through conducting free health screening.
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
A cross-cutting approach which can address the diversity of social structures that govern women’s lives is required for Women Empowerment in India. The three most important indicators of women’s empowerment, namely Security, Decision Making Capacity and Mobility are significantly low in Indian Women, especially among Rural Women. In order to improve these indicators, Digital Assam charitable trust envisages creating opportunities and increase capabilities through effective training programs at individual levels. As per World Bank Group report, only one-third of women above 15 years of age are actively looking for jobs. Conducting training and creating platform for providing opportunities has become a promising intervention to ensure empowerment among targeted group of women under our trust .
